About me
The Rabbit Fancy
How I started in the Rabbit Fancy
I got my first two rabbits in 1994 along with an aviary. They were a cross breed and a Dwarf Lop, which were about 3 years old. In 1995 we went to a Agricultral Show and I visited the rabbit tent there and it was my favourite tent by far. From there I bought a rabbit (I can't remember the breed) called Sky.
In 1996 I lost my first two rabbits due to old age. In 1997 I looked through the local Ad and found some Netherland Dwarfs for sale. I visited the stud and I bought a Magpie and a Chinchilla Netherland Dwarf, both of which were does. I tried to go to a show in 1996 but was unable to go due to bad weather (another tent show) and again in 1997 but missed the closing date. In the beginning of 1998 I finially found a show that was on and booked in my two pet rabbits. I done fair at that show picking up specials just for entering. I had been bitten by the show bug! I went to a pet show the following month and got a 2nd with my Netherland Dwarf Snowdrop. Later in 1998 I purchased Bobbysox an oversize Black Otter Miniature Lop. I was told to get her registered in my name I should join the British Rabbit Council. This was the first time I had heard of this and I joined up straight away and got her registered to my name. I decided I wanted to show and breed Miniature Lops so I looked around and found someone selling some. I got a Siamese Sable buck and a Sooty Fawn buck and later a Sooty Fawn doe. I showed Minis for around 2 years. I got my Dad interested in Californians in 1999. In 2001 I started up with Cashmere Lops so I found a breeder and bought 2 Cashmere Lops from them. Later that year I stumbled across Mrs Bramley and she really got my Stud of Cashmere Lops going.
Unfortunately I am not as active in Cashmere Lops as I used to be, due to life changes and stuff, but the passion is still there...

Also, a big thank you to Ruskin & Kalian for their help with supplying some lovely stock, Ken of Lark Stud for help and advice with Californians and Maureen Embry for her help and advice, and supplying some Miniature Lops to me when I first started up with them.
